My name is Baxter Krug

Welcome! I'm Baxter Krug, a PhD Student in Technical Communication and Rhetoric at Texas Tech University, with an expected completion date in 2025. My journey began with a B.Sc. in Chemistry, complemented by minors in Communication and Mathematics, and an M.Ed. in Science Education. This unique blend of science and communication fuels my passion for making technical subjects accessible and engaging.

As a researcher and educator, I delve into the intersection of technical communication and engineering education. My work includes a patented temperature monitoring system for medication, demonstrating my commitment to practical innovation. I bring this same innovative spirit to my role as Assistant Director of the First Year Writing Program at Texas Tech, where I focus on enhancing rhetorical skills among engineering students.

Outside academia, I'm the COO of StarKrug R&D, where I lead projects that blend scientific inquiry with everyday utility. My entrepreneurial spirit also thrives through my local business, fostering a community around games and learning.

In essence, I'm dedicated to bridging the gap between complex technical ideas and everyday understanding, whether it's in the classroom, the lab, or the community.
